Who is marce?

My name is Marcela Reyes, but everybody knows me as  marce. I tell stories for a living –my own or someone else's–. Books saved me from a boring life of numbers, and thanks to them I discovered that I love writing more than almost anything else. I am proudly Mexican, but I live in the U.S. with el Deivi*, 4 cats, and over 100 plants. From this weird country, I write, edit, translate, read, and Netflix (probably way too much).

I am especialista in all things Selena, I use Spanglish like my life depends on it, and every day I regret that it wasn't me, but beautiful Linda Rodin, who came up with my life's motto:

"Unless it’s 5 in the morning, I’m wearing red lipstick to the airport.”

I have 15 years of professional experience directing and executing content and communications strategies –both in English and Spanish– for a wide array of projects that include: political campaigns, local government, new media, non-profits, cultural organizations, and innovation start-ups. I help organizations think strategically about their communications and content efforts while centering justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

My work is focused on transforming ideas into attractive and well-written content. I have a B.A. in Journalism and Media Studies and a Master’s in Humanistic Studies (specializing in Literature and Discourse). My dissertation is about New Latin American Journalism (2011) and ever since I am obsessed with Latin American New Journalism.

If you want us to work together, you are looking for writers or collaborators, or you want me to write something for your site/blog/magazine, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail. I'll be glad to help you.

Let's work together!

*To keep my husband's identity safe, I gave him a  nickname, because that's what Mexicans do to show love.
